Regional Parks Reminds Visitors To The American River Parkway To Observe Alcohol Ban During Holiday Weekend

The consumption of alcohol and possession of open containers will be prohibited on the shore and the river within the American River Parkway between Hazel and Watt Avenues from August 30 through September 1 during the Labor Day weekend. The mandatory life preserver ordinance for children aged 13 and under in public waterways will also be enforced. Sacramento County Public Works Projects Win Awards

The Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District and the Department of Waste Management and Recycling were presented with the 2008 Project of the Year award by the American Public Works Association, Sacramento Chapter.
