STEVEN M. PEDRETTI, Deputy Agency Administrator

Steve Pedretti was appointed to the position of Deputy Agency Administrator in 2005 after being the Director of the Department of County Engineering since 2001. His Department provides a wide variety of internal and external services including financial services, information management and geographic information services.

Steve was born in Sacramento and lived in Carmichael and Citrus Heights until the age of 15 when he moved to Colorado. After graduating from high school in Colorado Springs, Steve went on to Colorado State University where he completed his degree in Civil Engineering in 1981.

After college, Steve went to work for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City, Nevada, where he worked in the Operation and Maintenance section. He prepared a flow routing model for a potential failure of Hoover Dam and various other dams.

In November 1988, Steve moved back to California and went to work for Municipal Services Agency's Water Resources Division as an Associate Engineer. In 1996, he was selected to head the newly created Drainage Operations and Maintenance unit. Steve served a short term as Chief of the Water Resources Division before he was appointed to his current position.

Steve lives on the Laguna side of Elk Grove and is active in youth sports, coaching baseball, softball, and soccer.
