Accounting and Fiscal Services recovers expenses by charging County organizations for costs of services performed specifically for those organizations and allocating the remainder as Agency overhead. Accounting functions include maintenance of accounts, journal voucher preparation and review, reporting to outside agencies and interfacing with external auditors.

Services provided include:

  • Municipal Services Agency (Agency) cashiering services at 827 7th St.
  • Agency internal financial accounting and reporting
  • Agency recurring obligation payments, such as power, water, and security service bills
  • Agency State Controller’s Reports preparation
  • Countywide construction contract preparation, monitoring, and payment
  • Federal and State grant claiming
  • General accounting support and annual financial statement/report preparation for:
    • Road Fund
    • Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA)
    • Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA)
    • Special Assessment Districts
  • General accounting support and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) preparation for:
    • Sacramento County Water Agency 
    • Refuse Enterprise Fund
  • Billing/Invoicing customers for services rendered by Agency staff.
