These are the Inspectors which come out to the different residential houses, commercial buildings and related structures to verify compliance with all of the current Codes, California energy standards and disabled access, when required by the California Building Code, so as to provide a safe and healthy environment for the citizens of Sacramento County.

Scope of Duties

Field Inspectors inspect projects for which a permit has been issued. They provide technical assistance in describing exactly what is and is not allowed under the building codes. (They do not help design nor provide labor on the project itself.)

They evaluate alleged violations & reports of construction done without a permit, and may issue a Notice of Violation or an Order to Stop Work if they believe work is being done, or has been done, without benefit of a permit.
