The Sacramento County Water Agency is preparing to meet new water supply demands for decades to come with its first ever surface water treatment plant. Named after its historical region, the Vineyard Surface Water Treatment Plant will treat water from the Sacramento River that will be pumped from the Freeport intake facility, where it will be treated to the highest drinking water standards. The plant will ultimately treat up to 100 million gallons of surface water per day for delivery to over 100,000 thousand homes and businesses in its service area.
