Proposed Remapping of Levees in Sacramento County - Nationwide, FEMA has been reviewing flood risks associated with levees and has given much more scrutiny to levee design and construction for existing levees that they previously recognized as providing 100-year protection. FEMA has been reviewing historical levee information along with updated federal design and construction standards to determine which existing levees in our community they will continue to recognize as providing protection and which ones they will identify as no longer providing adequate protection.
