The Clairidge Way project area consists of approximately 34 acres of low-density residential neighborhood that drains to Chicken Ranch Slough. The project area is bounded by Oliveview Avenue to the north, Norris Avenue to the east, Montclaire Street to the west, and Robertson Avenue to the south.

The project will upgrade the drainage system, built in the late 1950's to late 1960’s to meet the current County standards.

The storm drain improvement project was approved by the Board of Supervisors and advertised for construction contractors on February 3, 2009. The public bid opening was March 12, 2009. There were 19 bids submitted. On March 23, 2009, the construction contract was awarded to the lowest bidder - Teichert Construction.
