Programs and Projects
Lloyd Lane Storm Drain Imrovement
Background
The project area consists of approximately 27 acres of medium-density residential development. The proposed project area is bounded by El Camino Avenue to the north, Madera Road to the east, Estrellita Way to the west, and Lansing Way to the south.
The drainage system, built in various stages since the 1950’s, met Sacramento County standards at the time, however, current standards are now higher. The system consists of drainage pipe, inlets and roadside drainage ditches. The drainage from this area drains to Chicken Ranch Slough.
The County of Sacramento Department of Water Resources, Stormwater Utility used flood reports, maintenance referrals, and input from residents to develop and design the proposed project to provide better flood protection for this neighborhood.
Description
The project will address flooding and maintenance issues on Lloyd Lane, Barcelona Way, Bell Street, and Laredo Way. Improvements will include installing new storm drain facilities, upgrading existing facilities, and abandoning deficient facilities.
Updates
The project design is finalized and the project was on
schedule to go out for public bidding, however,
construction funding for the project was eliminated for
the current construction season. As a result, the
construction has been postponed until next spring. We
apologize for any inconveniences this delay may cause.
Additional newsletters will be sent to provide updates on
the project as it progresses through public bidding and
construction starting in early January 2010.
