On August 14, 2006, the Sacramento County Department of Water Resources awarded a contract for the Cresta Park Well / Site Restoration Project to Crosby Construction.
Project Scope

The construction project includes removal of the old 20-foot wide driveway and replacing it with a new 12-foot wide concrete driveway. The asphalt area at the south end of the driveway as well as half of the old well site will be removed and replaced with new asphalt.

Areas around the old and new well site and the new driveway area will be re-landscaped and will include new wrought iron fencing around the new well site, placing mow strips around the perimeter of the old and new well sites, and planting bushes around both well sites. Landscaping will also include the placement of new sod and an expanded sprinkler system to cover additional grass areas resulting from the narrower driveway.

Currently, the contractor is into the third week of construction of the project. To date, the contractor has removed the old driveway and asphalt areas and has removed the above ground section of the water main coming from the old well.

The contractor is scheduled to place the new asphalt sections next week and pour the new concrete driveway on Saturday of that week. Construction activities the following week are expected to include landscaping, installation of new fencing, mow strips around the two well sites, and the placement of new sprinklers and sod. Construction will likely continue into the week of October 1st to complete any remaining minor construction items.
