Stormwater Utility
The Stormwater Utility provides storm drainage
and flood control services to the urban and urbanizing portion of the
unincorporated County area and the Cities of Citrus Heights and Elk Grove.
Revenues are collected primarily through utility billings. The programs funded
include:
The mission of the three sections is to protect the community and its
waterways:
- through sound planning, construction, repair, and improvement of drainage
and flood control systems
- by monitoring pollutants in local creeks to protect the water quality
- by educating the community on ways to keep creeks and rivers pollution free
These sections also work with the Sacramento
Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA) in the development and implementation of
regional flood control projects and revisions to floodplain mapping.
