Description This
project involves construction of a new groundwater treatment plant and equipping
of two supply wells in the East Elk Grove area north of the the intersection of
Waterman Road and Grantline Road.
Proposed facilities include:
- Pressure filter treatment system
- 3.5 MG water storage tank
- Treated and backwash water pump stations
- 0.25 MG backwash water storage tank
- Backwash reclaim pump station
- Sodium hypochlorite and sodium bisulfite feed and storage
facilities
- Soft water treatment system
- Operations building
Project
Snapshot
- Contract time started on 3/26/01.
- Estimated completion — Spring 2002
- Overall cost — $7 million (without change orders)
- The 24-inch Treated Water Main that provides water to the
Suburban Propane tanks is in service. The Contractor has completed installation
of the 20-inch raw water main that run down Waterman Road.
- Contractor is proceeding with installation of onsite buried
pipes.
- Erection of the steel shell of the 3.5MG water storage tank
is complete and coatings have begun. Erection of the 0.25MG backwash tank shell
is under way.
- The underslab plumbing and electrical services are being
installed for the Control Building.
- Offsite fabrication of the above ground steel pipe has
begun.
